HOW TO ANCHOR A GREENHOUSE?

Hello to all you wonderful people who give me hope for the future!
I have aquired an aluminium green house which used to be on a base.
I am not allowed any concrete foundations on my allotment and am looking for suggestions as to how I can anchor it to the ground. There are small holes of about 5 mil spaced at intervals around the bottom,
and all I can think of so far would be to use tent pegs or something...
Regards
Jacqueline

Yep - glorified tent pegs. That's the way to do it. Get them (or make them) as long as is practical (given your soil depth) and hammer 'em in preferably at a fairly steep angle which takes them underneath the greenhouse rather than outside its perimeter - that way, any wind forces are directly opposed by the angle. You might have to take out the glass to do that.

The other thing to do is to earth up slightly around the outside to make sure that the wind can't get in underneath and lift the greenhouse. One thing to remember, though, if you have glass as the glazing material. That makes a bloody heavy greenhouse - it isn't going to go anywhere except in the strongest of winds.

Thank you very much MKG.
I have not yet glazed and will use your kind advice.
Unfortunately where it is situated
it does receive the strongest of winds!
I did hear somebody mention ground anchors but I don't
know what they are.
Cheers

Ground anchors=glorified tent pegs.

Why can't people keep things simple?

if possible, site the g h with the shortest side facing south-west.This is the direction of the stronger winds,& will offer less resistance.

a friend has recently done this - she used paving slabs to lay the greenhouse walls on and drilled and screwed them onto the slabs

my groundanchors are security measures and are concreted in. However goat tethers (big cork screw effort) are well effective anchors but perhaps not practicable for the job

Thank you folks for your suggestions. Luckily it is sited short-end to s/w, but I'll need to make sure the door is closed!
They say necessity is the mother of invention, my boyfriend came up with a fantastic idea to use some sheets of metal (which had previously been in the foot wells of his car) and bolt them to the bottom corners and place the heavy bench, which came with the GH, on top, eh voila, I don't think it's going anywhere!

By the way, I haven't got my own 'ditty' yet (and wouldn't know what to do with it if I did)
but in the meantime I'd like to pass on something I saw on a canal barge in Maida Vale:

I couldn't care less about apathy!

love and peace
