I just did a Google on the Strawberry Fayre in Cambridge and apparently it is usually the first Saturday in June. I went years and years ago, and it was great, a lovely atmosphere.
It's on Midsummer Common, I think, but I don't remember any camping.

I am not sure if the midsummer fair is the Strawberry fayre though - it seems to go on for several days.

This one is in Brecon in August - close to selfsufficientish day!
Brecon is in Wales and is a beautiful place - shame I don't still live in Herefordshire!!!
