Cold here, too. No water for 24 hours on Monday and Tuesday... I was glad to be "farm sitting" in a nice warm house over Christmas, as it was even colder then, and I probably wouldn't have had any water for several days!

It's getting warmer, 12.6c outside at the moment and gloriously sunny, but gales forecast for the weekend and quite a bit of rain with it.
Mind you, I could do with the rain, our water supply is getting low as we haven't had any rain (or snow) at all since the beginning of December.

Yippee it seems to be the end of the Big Freeze - we are up to a whole 3.7C! I still have two taps that are frozen up but my hens seem to have defrosted!!! It's so nice seeing them running around wibbling and doing chickeny things instead of standing around quiet and fluffed up and very unhappy looking. Hopefully I might thaw out too soon!

Well I know I'm enjoying warmer temps today, the last two loads of nappy washes have been tough work, having decided to keep the nappy bin outside the back door means we have slightly more space and no chance of nasty smells but it also means that I have had to thaw the nappies at the bottom as they had frozen onto the bin  I'm just glad that they were just wet ones at the bottom!
the ever growing luvpie household currently contains, 4 boys, 4 chickens, 2 cats, 2 rabbits, 4 fish, an empty tropical fish tank waiting new arrivals, now are we daft to look at our broody hen thinking, if we got some fertilised eggs........
