Didn't get quite that bad here...

I did run in and out every 30mins this morning, filling more and more water containers re alining the guttering on the back of the wood shed so that it temporarily fills the pond .... getting soaked to the skin each time.

I have now used everything we had lying around to store water - our 'water butts' are 2 large kitchen bins - severly lacking in capacity - we have arranged to get an old fertiliser drum.

If it is OK with God of 'ish I would like sun again for a week and then more of the rain, but next time could it just rain overnight please

I know, I was shocked when I could suddenly see them from my kitchen window!, I had only earthed them up the day before.

the rain has also made the rouge potatoes grow, one in next to the courgette 2 in where there should be carrots and about another half dozen doted around.

We only had 13.6mm yesterday - that's about half an inch in old money - felt a lot more... But today, after a dreich start, it's brilliant sunshine again.

And there's more rain again here :( Spent the afternoon bucketing water out of the little un's sandpit (how it drives in there when its covered & held down with clips I don't know!) only for the rain to start again. Lots of it. Damn wet stuff!

Had enough to do a decent watering on Wednesday and a blistering hot day to dry it out and persuade the weeds to grow yesterday. We are now onto "showers" and "mist" .....

It's "growthy" weather here - you can practically watch the grass grow... (And the weeds. :( ) Light rain, warm, close.
