I just got rid of lots of jars that I've been saving up for jam making - but since I'm in the middle of fitting a new kitchen that's out the window for a while yet! She did bring me a bottle of wine tho and I gave her a jar of freshly made tomato ketchup and I'm going to email the recipe. I think that's one of the really nice things about freecycle - it's not just the things you give and get - it's the friendly bit too!
Oooh - and we've recently had the honour of being asked to be moderators on a site that someone is hoping to set up near us!

Not especially close, but giving the forum's International-ness, it's quite close!

It helps to get rid of excess garden plants, gets you the plants you want, plus anything else you'd care to mention(short of personal dates!)

Freecycle let me have a major clear out of furniture that I bought with me that didn't fit the flat and ornaments enough to start a junk shop oh and a mirror that had been in daughter's cellar since Noah built the ark but which was in excellent condition. Ah downsizing and clearing up after a hoarder of a partner!

Have collected a pile of books to read, jigsaws for winter and a pile of pots and tubs for the allotment. I'm keeping an eye open for stuff I can use now.

On Sunday I went to collect a computer chair and came back with a computer chair, some raddishes and 2 kilos of rhubarb - which I've just turned into 8 jars of rhubarb and ginger jam! And before you lot say anything please note - that's RHUBARB and ginger jam - not rhubarb, computer chair and raddish jam!!

we managed to rehome our pond fish, fill the pond with rubble and soil and half turf it all from freecycle! only need to buy some grass seed for the other half and its done. we saved a fortune!

a) our washing machine from a guy who was emigrating
b) our sofa and armchair
c) pallets for building our henhouse
d) vindication when I kept dissuading my parents from dumping all their moving boxes then they were needed in a real hurry by a pregnant friend

ALOT of the stuff I have has come from Freecycle but my best thing so far was the Enamelling kiln with enamels and blanks the whole shebang. I make jewellery and hope to use the proftis from my business to buy a small holding somewhere (WHEN I eventually make any profit )

My OH gets PC bits off of there and reuses them in PC's for his family

I think all of our tropical fish tanks came from there, saved them from the landfill anyway

Both our heated propagators came from Freecycle (saved us over £100)

Lots and lots of brewing equipment ... oh boy we went to one place who said they had 'a few' demijohns...



We've also freecycled lots of other stuff and got lots of other stuff (most of which my OH says we don't need lol)

Oh... and...

we got a fruit juicer and a smoothie maker... ionizer... knitting needles... craft things... I could go on
