When I got to bed last night I thought - well, why didn't I mention the obvious: if you have a bruise after that massage, apply arnica... You can get creams, ointments, tinctures or a homeopathic remedy. Really helps.

Actually, I envy you your dream - at least that was a bit imaginative! A few years ago I was suffering from side effects of a medication - muscle spasms, mostly in the legs, but also arms and face. My dreams were accordingly: I always dreamt I was in a dangerous situation and couldn't get away. The two dreams I remember were: in one I was a kid, and my mother was moving away from me - I couldn't follow her, because I was paralysed; I couldn't scream, either, because my face was all stiff. In the other dream I was back at my parents' house, upstairs, and was watching thieves clearing out the ground floor, unable to move or shout for help. Quite frightening!

Aww Ina - your dreams sound really horrid - and very frightening - I send you a hug!
Actually poor old Chris is frequently at the brunt end of my wierd dreams! So far I've dreamed that I rewired a house with Chinese noodles and the foil container they came in, that the dog warden of our local council did a sponsored run thru the Rockie mountians dressed as a rabbit, that humpty dumpty was having a stand up row with a tube of toothpaste and that during my wedding ceremony we were all turfed out of the church by James Brown and a herd of gospel singing fresian cows! Goodness only knows what a dream analyst would make of me!! lol Although , despite all the wierdness this is the first time I've injured myself whist dreaming!

I sypathise your dreams, when I get stressed I dream and I sleepwalk, sometimes just embarassing but sometimes I really hurt myself and still don't wake up, it has involved a couple of hospital visits. Worst are the conversations I seem to have with OH, it often takes him a while to realise what I am acting out, is just a dream

   Brilliant! My dreams were only the effects of that stupid medication - antidepressant, would you believe it... Well, I stopped taking that quickly enough.

I thought I was dreaming today when I looked at a free literature paper I picked up in a shop: An essay with the title "In bed with an elephant"!!! Oooops, I thought - has Milims been writing about her experience???

Well at the time I was in bed with Chris........ But that's not how I hurt my back - I PROMISE!
Was it a good article Ina? It certainly sounds interesting!

Well the good news is I went to see my friend yeserday. She's a reiki therapist/sports injury masseur and she seems to have worked a bit of a miracle. She used her sonic massage machine on me and another one that looked a bit like ETs head on a stick and she even massaged arnical gel into my bruise and I came out walking upright! I went for a wee walk to make sure I stayed loose and then spent the rest of the day between pottering gently and having a hot water bottle on my back. It's still kind of niggly and I'm going to have to be careful - but boy does it feel so much better!
This has been my first experience of back pain and I really wish it would be my last - it's not at all nice and I empathise with any other sufferers.
Thank you all for your sympathy and advice and I hope, in the nicest possible way, I NEVER have to use it again!

Haven't even read it yet - something about translation / Scottish literature (Gaelic, Scots etc).
