google gets its cut for supplying the advertisers. I dont think thats so terrible. its not necessarily easy to find paying advertisers.
you will never have 'total control' - even if you find the advertisers yourself.. they can still turn out to be not what you thought - and in fact if you make a point over chosing them yourself, then you have to be VERY sure you approve of all their practices etc as it WILL reflect on you.
