I'll be happy to join in - I have some seeds so will start this w/e. I grew some a couple of years ago and got a lovely small bush with smallish (but fiery!) chillis on.

How will they be judged? Size isn't everything, especially with chillis. Those Dorset ones look evil.

Sowed mine on Sunday. I sowed them roughly 5 seeds to a pod on one of those big cell tray things, and if they all come up, i'm looking at about 100 plants - 10 or so different types of chilli. There's going to be chilli plants everywhere in the house (and outside it too...).

End of last years season I took into my lean-to greenhouse my cayenne chillies I grew form seed. They survived up until the end of November when a cold night got all but one of them.

This one I took to work and plonked on my window cill (S facing) the heaters on all the time at work set at 22 deg C!.

It's flowered again, produced fruit which has now gone red and I've been cropping for 3 weeks now!

I'm hopeful it'll flower again once all the chillies have been picked.

It's a great way to keep the fresh chillies going over winter.
It's not easy being Cheezy
So you know how great Salsify is as a veg, what about Cavero Nero, great leaves all through the winter , then in Spring sprouting broccolli like flowers! Takes up half as much room as broccolli

I've planted a few chillies... including the Peters lol....

Only 2 of these have shown their heads so far, but everything else is coming through well.

Wyrdwoman... we are measuring the length and girth of the peter chillis as they are penis shaped... it seemed the obvious thing to do

I've got some fab little chillies still coming on the plant from last year... small but POWERFUL!!!! I gave one to David, he likes to eat jalapenos from the jar... this little mini chilli gave him a bit of a surprise.

Can you grow chillies from cuttings? Does anyone know?? CM???? where are you???

Nope. I got 2 plants, they both had 2 leaves on them and something came in the night and munched them!

Out of my hundreds of chilli seeds that i sowed, i have ONE plant... And its just starting to fruit now. I#ve brought it inside into the kitchen where its warm and bright.
