thanks all, I will try and get the book from the local library ( he will get some royalties forthe fact that the library have his book), and I will ask them if they have the newsletter...you never know.

the book is a lot more value for money, well both books, 'Self Reliance' and 'The Lazy Kitchen Gardener'. I am knocking his writing, as I do like it, its entertaining and there are good ideas, but the cost is OTT.
realwildchild, have you seen J.P.R.'s site http://www.recycling.moonfruit.com/ on container growing with recycled containers, which can be grown vertically too on battens.
