First day of sun yesterday, so made a start on the first pallet garden with a trough like bit at the bottom to make it more stable and increase growing space. This is a short one for under the brick barbecue thing we're going to fill with soil for squashes.

Didn't have the 'proper' material, and the staple gun broke half way through - did have an old cat chewed woolen blanket, some nails, and more fun to boot.

It's certainly not perfect, but I'm happy with it :)



Found an abandoned pallet by the sea front (we were worrying about not having enough this morning, funny how things work out) and lugged it home so more pics soon.

Can't see from your photo,so this might be irrelevant,but it will work 100X better if you take 1 or better still 2 pieces of downpipe the depth of the pallet plus say 1ft sticking out the top,drill plenty of 1'' holes it's entire length,then fill with clean stone,say 3/4 '' diameter,and water down this.

incidently,I've seen some vertical setups using shoe tidy things for the back of a cupboard door,checkout instructables,some of them are brilliant,and could be used on wires in the GH for early strawberries or similar.
