Spot on there ... the coatings are something to be very cautious about. The heavily impregnated timbers (tanalised, creosote etc.) should be avoided. They may burn well but the fumes will be lethal and I wouldn't trust the ashes afterwards (if you intend to use it on the land). Cutting creosote based timber (telephone poles etc) is dangerous too as the dust produced will contain the creosote which, as we all know, was banned because of it's dangers. We cut up several pallets which were perfect once dried but the amount of nails drove me insane !
