There are few unwanted bits by screening. Currants, I sit and pick by the hour on a dull day. Also the currant and gooseberry bushes are pruned carefully to have ten or twelve loaded individual straight stems. It is not possible to screen these berries. I don't suppose the commercial fruit juice producers are nearly as clean as the screening method. .Millymollymandy wrote:Ah but as already discussed Durgan, it depends what you want the berries for. It's a much easier task than doing redcurrants, which turn to mush, and easier than blackcurrants as well.I just can't take the standing up for hours at a time which is exhausting!
