I've learned tons on here.
When we moved up here part of my reason was to simplify my life and start doing a lot more for myself. We already grew veg and had an awful attempt at wine making

but coming on Ish encouraged me to expand my horizons and we've since made some lovely country wines and the Ish beer recipe is fantastic

I've had a go at cheese making. My 5 minute bread (courtesy of uller) is amazing - the breadmaker is languishing at the back of a cupboard. And thanks to Odsox the polytunnel is now in year round use - although sometimes the weather's so bad we can't get to it (30ft away)
I've also learned to live with my limitations - in all areas but mostly in my business. I wanted to be totally green but then discovered that I had to use plastic. I can't do everything at once but I can still work towards my goals (getting near is better than not trying).
Nobody here berates me for wrapping my soaps in plastic, because we still use coal, have UPVC windows or any of the other "bad" things we do (I asked for advice on another forum and the only replies were to tell me to stop heating my house instantly

) it's just accepted that we'll change it when we can and good advice has been offered to help us on our way.
And the support we all give each other is fantastic.
And that's just a few things that spring to mind. On the downside, all the talk of chicken diseases has nearly convinced me I don't want them

....but not quite
