Why not try the be your own experts on fruit and also on pests and diseases?

Yes have had a look at them expert books. Think I will get the pest and dissease one but the fruit can wait as im only growing raspberrys and blackcurrants this year.

Gosh, those 'Expert' books take me back to my childhood - my grandparents had the complete set, I'm sure. I remember being taken up their (huge) garden with some of the books and being allowed to tick off in the books the things I could see in the garden. I get all sentimental when I see them in shops....

I have John Harrison's 'Growing Vegetables Month by Month', which I love - he writes in a way that makes growing food seem so much less scary. I have a few others too - the container gardening one co-written by Carol Klein, an Organic one done by the Organic Garden charity (down the back of the sofa at the moment, can't reach it to tell you exactly what it is), and, of course, the Ish bible. Which is, indeed, a bible. Quite a few books on herbs......about 12 gardening books in total, I reckon.
I took my dog to play frisbee. She was useless. I think I need a flatter dog.
