I don't have stale bread, either. I go through periods when I eat a lot of bread, and the might not have any for weeks. That way I can eat my bread fresh when I do have it... Or I freeze some of it.

hmmm... David's dad bought some little baguette type things from the supermarket while he was here... I don't like them anyway... and they got hidden away and by the time I picked one up it was like an offensive weapon. I hit it against the table and it didn't even crumble slightly.

Anyway... we thought... thin slices to use as a bruschetta or croutons...

DIDN'T envisage it keeping the dog quiet for ages!!!! OK, probably not too healthy for the waggytailed beastie but she got one and paraded around the room with it for ages... happy as - well a dog with a loaf of bread in it's mouth!! She eventually realised that it was something she could chew and settled down for a good half hour with it - stopped her from chasing the cat for a bit too. :cat:

a vet told me once a small amount of stale bread is good for a dog's teeth.
