I will try coffee wine, Tia-Maria is my usual shop bought tipple, so I think I would like it.
The dandelion wine was rank. Tasted like watered down cheap whisky

made a fine toilet cleaner though...
The rhubarb wine was/is gorgeous but the rowanberry was by far the best.
When we get back home I shall be making loads more

I will try FTB - I followed a John Seymore Recipe but it was waaaaaaaaaaay out with the measurements (there was a typo in the book) and MKG helped me rescue it....
I'll see if I can find it

Right-o
Now, I only made this once so it might have been a fluke - it was created by accident so I am cobbling together the recipe
15lb of rhubarb chopped, soaked in 1 gallon of boiling water for 24 hours. When I mashed and strained the liquid, I got around 2 gallons of liquid - added 12lb 8oz of sugar (I used half white, half dermerara - because I ran out of white) put in the yeast (just 1tsp) 4 days later I realised something was wrong and diluted it with another 2 gallons of water.
In total I had 4 and a half gallons of it and it was delicious, very sweet, very strong... a schnapps type flavour.
I'll follow the same sort of method when I make it again in a few weeks time.
here is the thread where MKG and paddy helped me out

Thanks very much for that Annpan, I will give it a try as we have loads of rhubarb growing plus still have bags full in the freezer from last year.

Ann, would you like me to send you a bottle so you could try it before you think about making it ? It would be my pleasure and really no problem at all. Just let me know.
Kind regards
Rob (Bristol)

That's no problem Ann - just let me know where you are and I will pop it in the post to you. " Knitted stuff " - hmmmmm, now that sounds intriguing ! Now it is Summer, I won't need bedsocks : what sort of things do you knit ? I would of course, proudly parade a pickie of me wearing whatever it was on this site ! As for seeds, anything is welcome in our little postage stamp and would be most gratefully received.
