I've got a provisional licence somewhere - its run out.
I can't afford to take my test! its too expensive, and then there's the cost of running and maintaiing a car, MOTs, insurance etc. For a first-time driver, insurance is a nightmare!

I think that a lot could be done with public transport - especially in the rural and semi rural areas. Our local bus service to the airport and back is great, but going anywhere else the latest you can get the bus is about 8 o'clock...and that's the last bus back too...

Trains: If they had a systems whereby each passenger due to use a particular train was logged, then maybe it would stop the overcrowding and the double-booking. Also, make sure that the trains stick to the timetable as much as possible. I don't mind it when there's been a technical fault, but when trains are cancelled, please provide buses! Just because x and y commuters can afford a £90 taxi home, doesn't mean i can.

There's so much that could be done and that isn't. I understand that the train fares have gone up 8%. This is stupid! It will now be more expensive to take the train to York that it is to drive. The government are supposeed to be encouraging people away from their cars, but they're not doing anough to help the transition to public transport. A good cut in fares would be a start!

Oh...and my journey home was ok on Sunday! I had a bit of a wait at Peterborough, and i had to go via cambridge to get home (for some reason they no longer do peterborough-stansted airport other than at peak times), but other than that, it was ok.
