had some trouble with led gu10's too. got ours from maplins at a cost of £10 each, but going from 50w per bulb to just over 1w per bulb seemed to justify the outlay. anyway one lasted about a month, the others about three months...very poor! one that i thought had gone, came back on, so tested fitting, all ok. put bulb in other fittings, sometimes it works and sometimes not. found another one that i thought had blown and that does the same thing, very strange!Stonehead wrote:Avoid the Kosnic GU10 LEDs (2.2W). They're supposedly rated at 50,000 hours but all of ours failed within 12 months. The last one went this morning — with a bang and blowing out the glass front plate. It's the third of six to do that; the other three simply stopped working.
cheers, velocidad.

[quote="Jackie"]Heh, what is a "green burial"?
There is no headstone (I think you are micro chipped) or embalming fluid, coffins are made of biodegradable cardboard, papier maché or willow and the graveyard is turned into a woodland or wild flower meadow.

Funnily enough, I can bury people on my croft but not livestock.marshlander wrote:Jackie wrote:Heh, what is a "green burial"?

Back to light bulbs - a funny story. We replaced all our bulbs for low energy a year or so ago, so no 'ordinary ones' left now. At forst they seemed dim but we got used to them and it all seems normal now.
I had my hair coloured at Xmas which I do as an annual 'bit of fun'. I asked for 3 different colours to brighten up the winter. I was a bit dissapointed when I got home and thought it all looked the same colour, but hey.
A few days later I went to a Xmas party, posh works do, overnigth in a hotel the works (one of very few nights out a year!). When I looked in the mirror in the bright lights in the bathroom there my hair was indeed several colours as I had asked for!
I must ask her next year for much brighter colours so I can see them at home (since I never go out!!)
