We didn't do it last year (has it really been a year since last time????), but we have had some very successful and enjoyable barters on here so we for two will be up for it this time!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

I think it went well.... though I didn't expect to discuss it in September

If there are enough folk interested I don't see why we shouldn't do it again.

Honestly? :? The only thing I love about it is the smell of homebaking... All those spices etc. (Oh, must explain that we have a lot more christmassy homebaking in Germany - just the mince pies and Christmas cake don't produce enough of a smell for me! But I make them, too.)

christmas, that odd celebration by a strange sex-obsessed death cult, marked by the purchase of tons of tasteless dross, and mass attempted suicide by alcohol.......
God, it's bad enough in December - please don't start the agony early this year

Last year we did secret santa. All names and addresses were sent to Andy, who then distributed a name and address to each person. It was up to you what you sent.
I think we set a price limit of £5 if i remember rightly.

It was really good! I enjoyed my present anyway!

So i'm up for it again this year (and whoever i get will probably be getting soap...).

Oh cool. Count me in, I love surprises.

I, too, love Christmas. I love all the decorations, lights (except the tacky ones on peoples houses), FOOD, parties, drink.......

I love giving presents and take great delight in finding something that I think will be really suitable for the recipient. I make sure I don't spend too much, though, and try to make presents which adds to the fun. I've made all my cards for this year.

I had to keep quiet about loving Christmas last year though as so many people were suffering.

It's the preparation and the warm social stuff that is great not shoppping for pointless presents and tasteless tat... still can't convince the OH of this, he remains firmly humbug getting worse with every year.

Roll on mincemeat and baking
