Coriander - Thanks for Tips - and Courgette Mish-Mash Recipe
Thanks to all those who gave me tips about Coriander - I'm afraid my little outside row of "beginner" Coriander has been decimated by the recent torrential storms - so I'll try again inside the greenhouse, this time.
However, having just picked some courgettes before the most recent downpour lashed the garden, thought I'd stay inside and cook instead.
Recipe for Courgette Mish-Mash
Chopped 3 onions and quickly browned in olive oil. Then transferred to another large pan and threw in some chopped parsley and a tablespoon of brown sugar.
Then fried up some chopped garlic and a big frying pan full of chunks of cooking apples from our garden - dumped these on browned onions etc. and stirred everything together.
Then fried up chopped courgettes (3 frying pans full) with chives from the garden until browned and stirred these in with the above - oh!! and there was a large red pepper lurking in the fridge so I added that as well. Heated everything through for another 5 minutes - but hubby and I only managed less than a third of it - so froze the remainder in batches.
Enjoy!

I remember when I was in France we fed them to the cow in the end... They were huge, and it looked rather funny the way she chomped a big bite out of them!
Anyway, I know you can stuff the flowers, too - they taste really nice. I've only managed to do that once, usually there are too many tiny beasties on them, which I don't fancy eating (I am a vegetarian, after all
). But using the flowers might stem the flood of courgettes!

I grew a courgette plant this year and was really impressed with the amount of veg we managed to get off it. So much so infact that we had to admit defeat and pull it up a few weeks ago as we couldn't face another courgette
The only problem I had was the sheer size of the bleedin' thing.
I've heard that you can train courgette plants to climb and was wondering if anyone has had any success doing this and which varieties are best suited for aerial life

The only way is up ;-)
But I think I've found the one I'm after...
Black Forest F1 looks promising. I'll give it a go next season and report back if it's any good
