Wild Waste at Haddo Country Park, Aberdeenshire

Do you know about an event that you want to talk about? Is there a campaign you have started, are involved in or want to start? Inspired by Marvin Gaye this is your place to tell the world what's going on.

Wild Waste at Haddo Country Park, Aberdeenshire

Post: # 56490Post Shirley »

Anyone else going along to this??

http://www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/waste/n ... teShow.asp

Entry is FREE and includes admission to the grounds, and the big house too!

I have a feeling that it will be busy and people are being encouraged to car share where possible.

There will be a few Neepsters! going along - look out for the Neeps! badges - and if my Selfsufficientish Tshirt is dry I'll wear that. Wore it the other day at the Rare Breeds Sale and one lady commented that she really liked the Tshirt and hopefully she'll come on to the Ish site! YAY.

It was a good day yes - apart from the usual niggles... polystyrene food trays etc... cardboard being thrown into the 'normal' rubbish container rather than into the recycling bin, and the man from Aberdeenshire Council telling everyone that they can't recycle tetrapak in this country - this country being Scotland... the place with Fife in it, which unless it's closed down is a tetrapak recycling site!

The drummers were excellent - I was trying to find out some more info about them but have drawn a blank so far. They used recycled blue plastic juice/whatever drums and they made lots of noise.

It appears that the place in Scotland no longer accepts tetrapak as there wasn't enough demand for the service!

I'm not sure whether there are any left - ask Andy or Dave.
