Hi from the strawberry patch!!

Post: # 44918Post kanga »

Hi, my name is Kanga, I have a strawberry patch and a few home grown herbs in the garden, but find the selfsufficientish site so full of useful info, just had to join. I do use 'green bags' at the supermarket!! A fairly new stratagy in Oz to reduce the plastic bag waste at the landfill. Hope that somewhere along the line I can add to the forum in a positive way :flower:

Hi Kanga. Your strawberry patch and herbs sound great. I'm planning on establishing a strawberry patch this year, I'm just clearing the ground for it. Do you eat all yours fresh or make jam with them or something?

Hi Chickpea

The strawberry yield so far this summer hasn't been great, so just eating them fresh. They are quite small, but sweet. I am originally from Staffordshire, so not far from where you are.

We spent last evening with friends and came home laden with nectarines. Their tree which is heavy with fruit at the moment, had a large branch broken off in a recent storm.

Any ideas what to do with them anyone???
