A new newbie

Post: # 291006Post AmalWarrior »

Hello all. Just joined today, as I got reading through some threads earlier, and found myself being drawn in! :study:
I'm living in Ireland (Republic) in the Midlands. Have 2 girls, and have The Good Life on DVD. I'm into Ecological and Economical living, and am Anti lots of things (plastic, pollution, non renewable energy, consumerism, capitalism etc etc).
I don't drive, but I do bake.

do you have a section where all the different symbols are explained? like why some usernames are highlighted (i think i've concluded they are mods), little red square on a section box, green highlighting on a section square...? maybe i'm getting too distracted! :dontknow:

I know nothing about fermentation, but I did once grow some new potatoes in a tyre stack. Got over a kilo of potatoes back, so a good result. So easy to do.

Most of the symbols will tell you what they are if you hover your mouse over them.
The green (or red) line down the right hand side means that member is online, green if they are, red if they're not.
The little red square means an unread post since you last logged on.
Whatever, don't be afraid to ask, we were all newbies once.

I sometimes think I'm too curious for my own good, it makes for simple distractions.

Hiya, and welcome from Scotland!

I do still drive, but I'm in the process of selling the car, now that I have a bus pass... ;)
