Mornin'

Post: # 290230Post Taff »

Hi there, I'm confusing!

I'm Welsh by origin (you guessed?) Currently living in Aus. Returning to live in Blighty in Jan 2018. But will be residing in Kernow.

Confused? Try being me.

;-)

Hi Taff and welcome to Ish.

Apart from the Aus interlude, I suppose you're keeping the Celtic connection.

Are you looking forward to coming back?

Hi Taff
I'm told the Cornish are just English Welshmen - you'll be fine. Nice to know you've seen the world and decided that home is best.

Hi Taff
Greetings from another Celtic country you've yet to live in
Mind you I can claim that too and although I have no Celtic roots at all, I lived and worked in Brittany before settling in Ireland.
There must be something about these Celts and their countries.

The Celtic thing must be a genetic impulse or, to quote William Carpenter, "....they are the expressions of constitutional tendencies embodied in the organism of the individuals who manifest them"

Both my sons (5th generation Australians) have had the Macrae clan (maternal tribe) crest tatooed on their arms; each without knowing the other had done it

Thanks all. I've been in Aus for16 years, but lived in Kernow for 10 before moving out here.

For the past five years I've suffered what us Welsh call "hiraeth," but luckily my good lady wife (an Aussie,) has agreed to move back with me.

I retire in 10 days, at age 58, and am looking to the advice and knowledge of this forum to keep the wolf from the door.

I'll keep you updated.

Good luck with the retirement (and moving etc of course). I'm sort of retired - never been busier.
