Re: I'm Back Too - and I have LAND!!!
Once you get a polytunnel up, you get an extended growing season so you will be able to get a few things in later than you would for an exposed garden and get some harvests. Do leave space for starting off lots of seedlings next spring through - from about March to early May, my polytunnel is congested with plants getting a headstart before planting them outside.
Outside, you can start getting perennials like soft fruit in and any trees / hedging you are planning for. You can also prepare beds for autumn planting of things like garlic and also get some green manure going so that your beds-to-be aren't under grass but also aren't laying bare.
It is an exciting proposition though, even if you end up doing not very much at all outside in the end this year; at least you can start the ongoing dance with the seasons and the land.

Argh it is now nearly July and STILL we are not finished with the bastarding conveyancing!
So desperate to get stuck in - but our solicitors are really drawing it out, despite almost daily badgering and riding them like a racehorse.
Just popped in to moan really...can't wait until I have some pictures to show you lovely lot so that I can get the ideas machine flowing!

Just to wind you up
When we sold our house the buyers offered the asking price provided we could exchange contracts in 2 weeks.
That was quite a challenge as we had lived there for 30 years, but we managed it and the solicitor said it was a doddle, mind you he was a freelance solicitor working from home.
So it can be done.
It must be very frustrating though, almost there but not quite.

Gah don't Odsox - I did my own conveyancing in 3 weeks once. What takes the time is the sending of letters (LETTERS!) which sit on desks for a few days, then spend a few more in the post going back.... there is absolutely no urgency on the part of our lazy arsed solicitor who knows full well we are temporarily homeless on Friday next week. I called to chase today and he is out of the office all day. Sheesh!
Still, very much a first world problem having to wait to buy a lovely house... I don't mean to sound ungrateful.
Given this morning's news though I am glad we signed up to a 5 year fixed term mortgage!
