Hello from Birmingham

Post: # 284356Post tom_birmingham »

Hi Folks,

Just dropping in to say hello, found this forum via the wonders of google. I have been reading quite a lot of books on self sufficiency over the past few years and have decided to go harder into practice and try and improve our home and our lives more so with low impact living whilst enjoying the ideas and philosophy along the way. One of the things I decided to do was diarise it via a blog, it's in it's infancy but there is a recipe up at the moment and a little background information on myself and my thoughts as they go along. You can read it on this https://selfandroots.wordpress.com and I hope it will become useful or interesting to read.

Happy to chat to anyone here and continue learning, any Birmingham folk please do say hello - would be great to exchange ideas and localised information.

All the best,

Tom

Hi Tom

Are you in Birmingham, UK or Birmingham Alabama? I'm guessing the first from the description in your blog (do they even have terraces in Alabama?) but maybe Doofa was thinking of the other one

Not a brummie myself, but my husband is, though we've settled in Wales now. Good to meet you.

Hello all,

Just finishing off a blog on sourdough baking tips and resources, will be up tomorrow once I have read it over again and added images.

A lot of different places here - Kincardineshire is a great name for a place, used to live in the Borders for most of my childhood until I landed back in Birmingham !

https://selfandroots.wordpress.com/2015 ... d-make-it/ - as promised, thought this might be useful with bread baking and researching sourdough bread.
