¡Hola! ¡Bienvenido!

Welcome to the site. I'm due to visit Granada for a few days this October - are there any "green things" (like gardens, etc) fairly close to the city that I should make an attempt to see?

Hola Biscombe,

Welcome to the site. My boyfriend & I share a dream about settling in your region one day. It's a long way off for now, but we enjoy the dreaming. My adored cat would have to come too, of course. :cat:

Wulf, you have to see the gardens at the Alhambra, they are stunning. I visited a few years ago & have recently been looking through my old photos. It was a wonderful place to visit.

The Alhambra is definitely on my list of places to visit - I love places with gardens and architecture.

Gracias,

Wulf

Pick away :flower:
I am growing at the moment Beetroot, Beans ( but I don't think they will fruit - not enough bees round here  ) Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Chillis, Aubergine, Lettuce, Garlic, Gourds and Pumpkins. All my gardening skills had to be re-learnt when I moved to Spain as the growing conditions are completely different to the U.K and I'm still finding my feet.
I grow everything in pots as well 'cos my garden is terraced and we only rent so the landlord wasn't keen on us lifting up his tiles. It is quite frustrating but I can bear it for the next year or two - until we can buy our own place.
What about you? How do you find gardening in Spain and watcha growin'?

Hedgewitch, have you ever fancied keeping your own bees? You'd get honey and beeswax and they'd pollinate your beans and other crops. I'd love to keep bees. I think they're next on my list of things to try, but my kids are scared of them.
