...find out about beehives
About a year ago I read something about beekeepers needing to keep bees in people's gardens - something about depleting stocks of bees or something. Does anyone know if this is still happening and if so, which organisation to contact?

Sda, if you google 'beekeeping association' with the name of your region or county you should get a contact name or number. You'd need to be happy with someone trooping through your garden at least once a week, and the risk of the bees swarming, but I'm sure a responsible beekeeper could explain all of that to you. Or take a course (ask at the BKA about that too) and do it yourself!
