Lets not call last orders at the Selfufficientish pub

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Minor storm in a teacup, if you ask me. And look what's come out of it - now we have a Tewkesbury/Edinburgh unrequited love story to keep us amused. Oh, I do like Ish!

You'd better keep your head down, or you'll be getting "stalked"
please please say you get the double entendre

I've thought and thought about it, and I have to say ...

I haven't the foggiest what you're talking about

Mike

EDIT: It's now 8:11 pm. I finally got it! Trinder was talking to Big Al, not me. Now it all makes sense. Back to Brief Encounter ...

I'm entirely baffled too, and I have an absolute sewer of a mind. Still, it's nice. A bit like "Brief Encounter."

In a previous life I was a high quality candle maker and I was on an American fourm as most of my products came from the USA.
The southern Baptists are the real deal, far more so than any raw vegan.

One occasion I was winding them up I got over 5000 flame mails  Another time I was told that if I was in their town I would be put in the middle of a circle ( on a saturday) and the town elders would recite the gospel and the bible until I repented of my sins. To which my reply was " The elders would burn in hell before I repented" That one saw me have to change my email addy, :?

I think that huffing and puffing about what one person may have said once and declaring they are leaving probably shows us more about the leaver than hold a mirror up to the 'Ish community at large. If I was only social with people who agreed with everything I said and thought I would be very lonely, I don't think even my husband would be counted amongst my social companions! You can only be upset by someone if you allow yourself to be and perhaps it is time to just "be" rather than continuing to post self righteously which will only wind yourself up.
Not particularly directed at one person, just a mish mash of observing "huffing" over the last couple of years. there have been a couple of doozies, it is amazing what people will be upset by too- I have been most perplexed by some diva exits from the forum, I suppose at the end of the day though Ish is probably stronger for not having those folk remain...
(pls forgive rambling, the new neighbours had a very loud party all night - I wasn't there but it still kept me awake and I am almost vegetative- pr'ly shouldnt be posting meself!)

I have been chuckling over this thread trying to decide who is playing the roles of Den and Angie, Grant Mitchell, Pat Butcher, Frank Butcher, Peggy Mitchell et all. (I stopped watching Eastenders about 10 years ago so I'm a bit stuck in the past here). I'd better not say which mod I have allocated to which character. Or would anyone prefer to be Bet Lynch?

I like this pub...... mines a pint! (or two). :drunken:
it's either one or the other, or neither of the two.

You can be anyone you like from any of the customers but I was naming bar staff so rather had Frank Butcher in mind for Tony Odsox and Den and Angie for the Hamilton twins; I do not dare say who I have down for Pat B and Peggy M (Babs Windsor in case anyone didn't know) or I will be immediately banned!

Me, I'll be Ethel.

Dang!

Me too Red!

Been spending too much time stooped over the sewing machine, cooker etc trying to finish the Christmas crafting. Ish is just too distracting to visit regularly this time of year!
