2lts of orange juice
1lt of white grape
1kg sugar
1 cup of strong tea
yeast
be warned do not top up with water until after the intial ferment has calmed down
this makes a white wine that is drinkable in about 4 weeks

Ah - the question we all asked when it first appeared, Timbo.

Wurzel (apparently, although I still think a certain someone just made it up  ) is an alcoholic beverage made from fruit juices such as those commonly found in supermarkets. If you go on the winemaking forums (not a trip I recommend) you'll find it called "turbo" whatever - turbo cider, turbo hock - I'm sure you've seen it in your travels. It's a perfectly legitimate way of making zoob quickly and cleanly. What's "zoob"? Exactly.

I would recommend this one as a good brew and cost hardly anything to make
Wish I'd made more too, that was a very yummy wine.

At the moment I have some nettle wine and some carrot wine I made yesterday brewing. I also have my eye on the nearest elder, going to be a couple of days before that flowers.

Irigg - cider / apples / pressing

I have a 3-tier aluminium steamer. This year I used it to "juice" windfall apples. Water goes into the bottom bit, roughly chopped apples in the top bit, and the juice comes out into the middle bit. Mine produces about 6 pints for a full top basket in about 3 hours gentle steaming.

Juice into demi-johns. add pectolase and yeast - 2 weeks later you have pure (rough) cider. Not bad !

My experiences with fruit pressing have been dire. Steaming works, and sterilises the juice, but is a small-batch exercise.

I have a demijohn 3/4 filled with home pressed apple juice. I hope that through the magic of cell division and multiplication enough yeast can form that will turn it into cider. If it hasn't started bubbling in a week or two, I'll add in a sachet of yeast .

hi there first of all how long since it finished
have you racked it a couple of times
have you added campden and stabilizer
and lastly sometimes it requires finings or filtering

hope this helps

i have just had a brain wave
when i made this once using Te__o orange juice it took nearly 4 months to clear in the end i put in the fridge to chill it for 3 weeks and it cleared
you could put it outside somewhere and cover with something like a bin liner and see if the forecasted cold weather will help clear it :? :? :? :?
i also had to filter it several times but it was worth the wait to watch my friend take 20 mins to walk 150 yards to his house from mine after we had a bottle or two lol

just looking at my wines that are brewing and realised i have made the same mistake again and used the te**o orange again when it was on offer
li*l nectar range from now on for mine
:santa: :santa: :santa:

24th november
i've added some pectic enzyme to my above wine and it has started to clear within 24 hrs
so if anyone else is having trouble clearing the te**o orange wow then this maybe the answer   :santa: :reindeer: :occasion1: :toothy7: :toothy7:
