Black Soldier Fly Larvae

Post: # 235671Post mamos »

Is anyone on the forum using BSF Larvae to aid in composting, feeding their chooks or feeding their fish?

I'd never heard of them until someone posted a link to a larvae farm. But it was Australian, if I remember rightly. do we get them over here. or is it another name for something familiar?

Thanks for the quick reply Maggie

I am unsure to be honest. I have heard them mentioned in a UK talk on Aquaponics but there is little info from a UK standpoint.

It is a good way to turn waste food into highly nutritious chicken and fish food and they seem easy to keep.

I am going to have to research this a little further
