You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Remoska recipes!

Post: # 225365Post Milims »

I've just won a Remoska on freecycle and I'm really happy! At the moment I'm roasting the chicken for tonights tea, but I wonder if anyone has any other recipes?

No recipes but I always see these in the Lakeland catalogue - what are they? Are they like a small funny-shaped oven or is the heat generated differently? They always look very exciting! Congrats on your win.

Looks a lot like a slow cooker.
If it has low temp settings you could perhaps use it for beef stews, marmalade's etc.

Congrats, looks like a useful contraption

THe thing is - it's not a slow cooker - I have 2 of those! It's almost like a mini oven but whatever you cook in it is not only properly browned but also very succulent. Apparently you can do cakes, scones, sausages, roasts, stews and soups - with a lot less elastictrickery than usual! So far I've done a very succulent roast chicken, sausages for sausage and mash for tomorrows tea and right now I have Normandy Pork and Lentils on the go!

Hi Milims

Can you give me your recipe for Normandy Pork and Lentils in the Remoska - it sounds delicious. What sizes do you have? I have the standard one and am thinking of getting a larger one but as I am a single person is it worth it, with the cost of electricity going up anything that helps is a boon, but I am always on the look out for new recipes!

Hi HK - essentialy it's just brown he pork, sautee the onions, chuck in puy lentils, stock/cider, thyme, dijon mustard and seasoning. I think I must have the large one - although I couldn't promise - I didn't buy it so I'm not sure!
