Grow Your Own TV Programme last night.

Post: # 234762Post Cligereen »

Did anybody see the programme "Grow Your Own" on BBC4 last night? I settled down to watch it thinking it would be full of good advice - but it wasn't that kind of programme at all. Actually is was a film about an allotment society and their new foreign members. It highlighted the therapeutic value of growing your own and also of 'belonging' to some very vulnerable people. It was the kind of film that the :grouphug: smiley was made for!

It was very interesting and really reinforced my own views on 'garden therapy'. Not sure if it's on iPlayer because I can't get that in Ireland (we do obviously get BBC4 though on satellite). I'd be interested in what you thought about it.

It was filmed up our way that on a bit of waste land, then they took it all down after it was finished. Should have kept it. I loved the film but it made me cry.

Yeah I watched it, seen it a few times but still watched it all the way to the end. Lovely film :hugish:

Saw it last year when it was on and watch it again the other night. This is an excellent film, well written with great performances and quintessentially British. The sort of quirky film that we manage to do so well.
Has anyone seen the plot, I seem to have lost mine?
