How do I un-block a toilet??

Post: # 233627Post thesunflowergal »

My three year old seems to have got a bit loo roll happy angry9: :confused2: :crybaby: :pottytrain5: :pottytrain4: and now the loo is blocked. I have removed all that i can reach in the bowl and into the pipe. But the loo still isn't working, the bowl just fills up with water. Is there anything that I can put down the loo to sort the problem out please?
Thanks Nikki

Good old plunger or an old-fashioned mop with a plastic bag tied over the head works great as a big plunger.

Okay. Toilet brush? Put a plastic bag over the end et voila! You have a plunger.

Wire coat hanger? Tricky, but if you can undo it and shape it to go around the bend that might work. Just be careful of it scratching.

When mine was blocked I'd rather have fished out a teddy than what was blocking it....... :pale: :pale: :pale:

We had to use a karcher with drain unblocking rod attachments. I won't post the photos. Good luck!

Thanks all!!
I am not sure if it was the long pointy stick or the loo brush with a bag over it, but I have a fully functioning toilet :grouphug:. I have also introduced loo roll rationing

also, when appropriate, rather than flushing. the same quantity of water, poured directly itnto the bowl ( rapidly) from a bucket, is much more effective

A decent plunger is one of those tools that everyone should have. They're not expensive and they can save you a fortune.
Cheers
