Giving up on winter Veg...

Post: # 228731Post Jessiebean »

For this year at least. I have planted seeds and seedlings in the same spot four times so far and the chickens have cunningly escaped and eaten them all every time. The Single PSB plant has somehow survived the smothering pumpkin vine, the chickens, the caterpillars and now...we are moving in six weeks which will be the dead of winter here... so no point in putting in the garlic... I don't know what to do with the PSB but I do know that I might need to resign myself to shop bought vegies until spring! *Sigh*

At least it will be the right time of year to cut back trees and get the bare rooted fruit trees!

( moving will be exciting rather than stressful because we are going three doors up the road so will move most of our stuff with the sack barrow!).

Well you've got a lot more important things on your plate, so I wouldn't worry about the veggies this year. Get the new house sorted, then attack the garden ready for your spring as you get a lot more fresh stuff out of the garden in summer than winter. Good luck with your move (and can't you just nip back to get your PSB? Make a deal with the new residents of your house! ).
