Blustery days

Post: # 227580Post MuddyWitch »

The wind blew one of our six foot fence panels out of the concrete posts. It sits in two grooves, but the gust blew so hard it bent it & popped it clean out.

Quick as lightning the greys were through into nextdoor's (who's gate onto the road was thankfully shut) and they had a right old time running up & down his garden. Like ours it's 30' by 285', but, unlike ours, his is mostly lawn, so they had a huge new playground.

They both came home for the shake of the dog biscuit tin. Shallow things greyhounds. We reslotted the panel into the posts & wedged them slightly with twigs. I think the wood must have dryed out & shrunk with the lack of rain.

Everytime the hounds go out now they check to see if the magic portal to the 'other world' is truly closed for good

@Snapdragon, Whilst the old boy nextdoor was very understanding & likes to see our dogs when I walk them, he also feeds the urban foxes & they take food from his hands. Our bitch, Dana, would kill the fox given half a chance so his garden isn't really a greyhound playground option.

However, once we are finally over the Irish Sea the hounds will have a huge new playground; we're not looking at anything with less than three acres!
