Its very, very cold in Lincolnshire today but the garden is starting to come to life again. We to can see the forsythia about to bloom, snowdrops, aconites, primroses, crocuses, wood anemones, dwarf daffs and our lovely collection of hellebores all look lovely.
The birds are more active, they can sense the warmer days to come. All the bird boxes have been taken by the numerous blue tits that come into the garden to feed. Our lovely pair of collar doves have taken up their favourite branch on the apple tree, unfortuntely their nest in the tree will need a bit of rebuilding this year as the bad weather took its toll.
Managed to clean out our small pond last weekend, patios all cleaned as is the greenhouse.
Fruit bushes have green buds on, rhubarb soon ready for first picking and noticed a few green buds on the plum tree. I just love this time of year, every day there seems to be something else that is bursting into growth.

A trip to Bristol last weekend showed up we're a couple of weeks behind those further south. Still we have the hellebores, crocus, and snowdrops flowering. Daffs and tulips are coming and the rhubarb is still alive sending up shoots so digging it up and spliting it hasn't killed it.
We've been eating winter veg, parsnips, leeks, etc and recently cauliflower, broccoli and PSB, but in our house we know spring is really coming when we pick this years fresh nettle tops and have nettles soup. This we did last night, with some celeriac and leeks - delicious.
