Recently heard the words 'Take your coat off or you won't feel the benefit' fall out of my mouth. I cannot be saved.

I felt quite old last night when I walked past a nightclub at about 7pm and it had a sign saying 'open from 11pm til 3am' I thought, 'what on a Sunday' then remembered that 20 years ago I would have probably arrived just after kicking out time from the pubs - about midnight.

Sadly, at 30 I knew I was past it when I told my daughter to eat her crusts or she would never have curly hair. Ah the lies passed from our own parents. Also I don't enjoy having a skirt up my ass anymore, and really enjoy bedtime. How sad am I?

Never been cool - such a relief to give up trying now i'm in my late 40s! Actually, the people I have always considered cool are those who do what they want to do and stick to their principles regardless of what others think, so that's the sort of cool I aspire to these days.
Possibly maing a virtue out of a necessity here though....

yet again you are my fricking HERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am NOT old, and i ont fear ageing either, but I have noticed a gap between myself and others i know.

i realised i am older than my friend yesterday when leah (only 5 years younger than me) asked me if i'd heard of something called rocky horror and did i know what she could dress as for a theme party 'cos she'd never even heard of it... my first answer after getting excited about writing down all the female character's outfits was "wait, are you kidding?!".

no she's not kidding. and she's going as Janet. I'm halfway through making her 1950s style full circle skirt lol!!

I'm only 28! but f* it, I'm not gonna grow old gracefully anyway ;)
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very

wow, I'm 31 and first saw Rocky Horror when I was 17, some people must live such sheltered lives (kinda apt she's going as Janet really)

OK - I am definitely old - a nice cup of tea solves everything, taking my coat off when I step inside anywhere so that I feel the benefit, always having a tissue in my pocket and going to bed at 8.30 for the last couple of nights (although that last one may be due to recovering from flu this week).

I played Janet in a youth theatre production of Rocky Horror at the Rep in Birmingham when I was 17. - so perhaps I was cool once upon a time after all

I joined the library just the other day. The nice lady explained everything to me, including telling me that if anything was overdue, I'd be fined, but that would stop in May. I asked her why that should happen in May. She looked me straight in the eyes (with a hint of manic glee, I'm convinced) and said "You'll be sixty".

Have you ever felt the earth shudder ever so slightly?

So when you are 60 and you have kept a book for too long from the library, you have a good excuse and that is because you are now 60 and....forgetful? Whoa! That is crazy, no?
I realized I was not so young anymore when I started falling asleep in front of the TV, like my mum used to do...
But based on what I have read, I must have been old for way longer...
