Huge swedish one called Alternativ.nu, it has 23 000 members and there are usually 60-100 online at all times. It is better divided than this forum I think, by necessity, since it is so huge.

Silly question but is it in Swedish?

Yes 0=)... You should learn it!

I would love to find a similar version in english. I mean, if the Swedes can rustle up 23000 members from a 9 million population, there must be a world-wide forum with like... a million members?

Ish is nice but very small =).

Are there other boards? I did follow Money Saving Expert forum for a while, but I found there were too many people who were really patronising and sarcastic, when essentially they should have been there to help each other. In fact the complete opposite of this forum where everyone is so lovely. :grouphug:

I went on to Alternativ.nu and used the google translate app on my tool bar. It worked really well and it looks a good site. Will have a good look round when I have a bit more time.

Well I've looked at all the ones listed above (not the swedish one) and I reckon this is the right place to be.

I hang out on a lot of boards - I like the forum format and the pace of the conversations - but I think you are asking about ish-y ones. This is still the best I've found. Others that I've tried tend to be overrun with survivalist gun nuts or permaculture evangelists.

I like the fact that this one has just nice, normal people, and that the very concept of "-ish" implies that perfection is not mandatory.

But I also did have a wee look at Alternativ.nu and translate it and will do a bit of reading later.

Our remote ancestors said to their mother Earth, "We are yours."
Modern humanity has said to Nature, "You are mine."
The Green Man has returned as the living face of the whole earth so that through his mouth we may say to the universe, "We are one."
