Self-sufficiency nightmare

Post: # 218140Post homegrown »

I had a dream last night that I owned a large farm which had cattle, sheep , chickens, ducks etc as well as vegetables and a dairy cow heard, but then this short ugly civil servant arrived and said we had to plant the farm with GE corn and I had the choice of pink, green, purple, orange colour. and while I was arguing with him my wife hit him over the head with a shovel killing him. We went to bury the body but a tag on his suit said he was the new generation of artificial grown genetically modify civil servant and carried warnings not bury him a he had a 500 year toxicity.

It's not fair even in my dreams the government keeps interfaring in my plans for self-sufficiency.

has anyone else had strange dreams about the self-sufficient lifestyle? :sunny:
Our remote ancestors said to their mother Earth, "We are yours."
Modern humanity has said to Nature, "You are mine."
The Green Man has returned as the living face of the whole earth so that through his mouth we may say to the universe, "We are one."

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

or post it to me, i could do with some decent escapism lol!

i had a very warm and happy dream once i embraced firstly my garden and secondly my long held personal beliefs of the interconnection of all things living and dead and stopped feeling guilty about it for some odd reason (complicated upbringing in a strangely high-church-of-england-christian-yet-communist belief system lol). i was sitting on the moon and could see the earth massive, and very vividly coloured. i was warm, happy and no i had not been smoking anything!
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very
ve-he-he-he-heryyyyyyy soooooooooooon!!!!

Oh I promice you it wasn't.

For 2 years running I have been "served" with council enforcement notices, just as I was about to expand my smallholding activities.

Everyone from the Council, Forestry, Environmental Healt, Parish council, Local Fishing club, have all come and had a nose about and whilst accepting allot of the preservation orders might not be fair or correct with a TPO in an AONB as part of an ASSOB options are limited!!!!!

I am lucky to have about 4 acres of really steep valley side going down to the river, and I had set up a co-operative with ten friends to run pigs in the woods, we had started work this year, when they turned up and said they had re-issued the TPO and no pigs were allowed. Well not the 10 I wanted, but I could keep 2 and let them out for 2 hours a week!!!!!

Whilst I am majorly inconvenienced, the tree officer took 12 weeks to do his report, and did not send it to me, the council had 6 months to consult with me, and promiced too, but on the last day of the 6 months, confirmed the order with no consultation, and the County Councillor who promiced to sort it out, even though I chased him 4 times, didn't and afterwards said he was too busy!

There is more too, but I have decided to let it go........

Boboff, don't let it go why don't you put it out there, talk to people like HFW and see if they can help, make it public so that the council are forced to rethink so they don't look like twits.

I can't do it any more.

They do not care.

The more I fight, the worse I feel, more depressed I get, and the less motivation I have.

I have decided to follow the round table approach to live.

" Adopt, Adapt, Improve"

If I take it on the chin and work with them, it's less time than arguing and I think I will be able to get 80% of what I want in the end.

I learnt along time ago "it's the principal" fights are just not worth fighting in this world any more.

It is a sad situation I know, and I hate that it has come to this, but I did nothing constructive this year in a mood about it, and really I want to get on with things now.

We really have gone to Hell in a hand Cart in this country, and have let the officious little unimaginative twats win their war of envy and bitterness. I surrender.
