Thank you all so much for your comments, it means a great deal to me. I'm not going to take as long to do the next one ( for Mother In Law, next Christmas), but I think I had better get started sooner rather than later

It is absolutely gorgeous - and some achievement, that's some amount of work.

I'm so bloody jealous of all you crafty types.

That is wonderful - I am so impressed (and jealous). I can knit and sew and make felt but I never have never been able to quilt like that - it is so mazingly precise, as well as having beautifully chosen colours. Hope it was much appreciated.

Sorry, I've been caught up in the post Christmas mass tidy up. It was 12 loads of washing yesterday and we are still going  .
Anyway, I handed her the wrapped quilt, which she opened up and there was this sort of silence. Then a subdued thank you. so I was sitting there thinking, oh God she hates it :angryfire: :angryfire: , but then it all made sense when she handed me and husband a box. We opened the box and in it was this.........
Image

I was so shocked, she really snuck this one on me, I had no idea she was even going to do this, but it just proves that no matter how much you don't want to we all turn into our mothers!!!!

She loved the quilt and from what she has told me her two cats quite like it too

Oh, that's just hilarious! Fancy her doing that! And she really didn't know you were making one for her?

I'm so glad she liked it! If someone had made a quilt like that for me I'd be wandering about draped in it to show it off and finding excuses to invite random people up to the bedroom to show them.

If you had asked me that when I was 16 then I would have rather jumped off a bridge, but once you have your own kids and generally get older it's not such a bad prospect. As long as I don't end up as paranoid as she can be then I don't mind too much
