Crystals

Post: # 217979Post Milims »

Anyone out there who knows anything about crystal therapies? My sister is a crystal therapist and she's given me a piece of unpolished malachite as part of a christmas gift - and, having read about it, I'm not sure why she's given it to me and I'm not sure if I want it! For a start, apparently in it's unpolished state it's toxic!!!I know we don't get on that well - but come on!!! From the other things I've read about it it seems to show more about what she doesn't understand rather than what she does! On the up side it does say that it helps protect from natural radiation and we do live in an area of high Radon so maybe I should place it in a corner on the floor for protection :dontknow:

And let us be kind

It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

you are right that in its unpolished 'raw' state its 'toxic'

it amplifies both negative and positive energy - its an important protection stone absorbing negative energies and pollutants easily - it does guard against radiation of all kinds ( probably the reason you were given it) and is placed in the homes of anyone living near reactors/natural radiation - it also clears electromagnetic pollution

it also enhances intuition and insight .

i dont think your sister is doing any harm i think she intends for you to put it in your house rather than using it for body healing. think of it as a house/environment healing stone. :-D

I can't tell why she gave it to you but it sounds like a lovely stone.
Malachite crystal can also be used for healing the body and clearing environmental pollutants, including the electromagnetic energy from cell phones and computers.

It is believed that gazing at Malachite or holding it relaxes the nervous system and calms stormy emotions. Malachite is said to bring harmony into one's life. It is also believed that malachite gives knowledge and patience.
Any of those needed?

Oh, and it's one of the rarer birthstones for Capricorns - don't know if that applies.

Well the environmental pollutants may apply as we live in an area of high radon - but I don't really think she'd know that. Calming stormy emotions and bringing harmony - I'm not so sure about that - I'm a pretty laidback person! :dontknow: Hey ho - I guess I'll work it out - or maybe I should ask her!?Oh and I'm a taurean!

No disrespect intended to believers, but I don't think crystals do a darned thing. It will only protect you against radiation if it happens to sit directly between you and the source of radiation, and even then, a scrap of lead would do a better job. They can be pretty to look at, though.

I would ask her if I was you Milims, after all if she is the therapist and you are not, then she should be explaining what it is for to you!

Neither do I. BUT, they can be very pretty, which can be soothing and therefore pleasing to the soul. You should be alright with malachite provided you don't eat too much of it.

Well, there you are. We've got a couple of fossils the girls found in the garden that always cheer me up for some reason.

You're right = malachite is really pretty - especially in it's polished state, so it's hanging in a silk pouch on my dresser. However, I do believe in crystal stuff (yeah I'm a wierdo!) and without wanting to sound ungrateful - which I think I am sounding  - it's not one I'd have chosen! So I think a phone call is in order!
