Actually I'm quite glad about the weather conditions because today we'd be starting on a long journey to the south coast and be staying with the outlaws.........but not now

Just spent 2 hours with the family clearing the snow from the lane and parking bit! One blister each and ready for the inlaws arrival ( they bought a 4x4 just so they could come down our lane in something other than the "JAG" Sterotype = You betcha'

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

I'm not fed up with it - yet - just as long as it stays well below the tops of my wellies! My chooks never go outside in snow, the ducks are completely oblivious to 'weather' no matter what it is (they are waterproof!) so most of my outdoor time is taken up feeding and seeing to the wild birds who are eating us out of house and home!

I've noticed this. Nights have been absolutely freezing and there they are, sitting around in the moonlight, chatting away to each other!

I can see you and I are on the same wavelength. The wild birds eat more than me but I don't begrudge them a single seed. I adore them all.
There is no question. Cap and Share or TEQs is the answer. Even Cap and Dividend!

There's a bit of irony with the airports being mostly closed yet the BBC helicopters seem able to fly to capture footage.

I am defrosting the ends of loaves that I shove in the freezer for when I want breadcrumbs - they get a bit dessicated after a while anyway so not so good for human consumption but the birds are very happy! :flower:

That's a good idea! I normally love snow as it often means a day or two off work for us teachers. Gutted that this lot fell on the first day of the school holidays - what a waste! Also, we were having a xmas party on Saturday and I'd already made a load of food. Nobody could get through the snow in the end so we've had party food for 4 meals this weekend! It is just starting to snow again here and the roads are a nightmare, the snow ploughs haven't been out and some of the bus services are still suspended so yes, I am a bit fed up of the snow now. We had a lovely walk yesterday and took loads of pretty photos though - the canal by us is frozen and covered in fox tracks!

It took me 2 1/2 hours to travel the last 5 miles to work on Monday. The bit of road that is normally a nightmare was perfectly clear, it was the main roads through Cheltenham that were completely iced over. I can't understand how as the roads in Swindon were fine when we'd had just as much snow and been just as cold.

At least I managed to get home safely so I'm not going to complain. I was going to work from home but succumbed to the cold bug so spent the last 2 days in bed instead. Feeling much better now. If I'm going to be ill, it may as well be on days that I can't get to work anyway.

I didn't get around to clearing up the last of the fallen apples this year. I'm glad I didn't now as the birds have been having a feeding frenzy the last couple of days. They'll clear all the apples by Christmas at this rate.

in the 70's this type of weather was quite normal for this time of year, well it is winter, but i think over the last few years everyone has got used to the wet and wamer winters and have forgot what they are really like :flower:
