Re: Oh no, SNOW !
The small thaw and light rain are very slowly turning a small amount of the snow into water. I don't like the idea that the water will freeze again tonight and turn things into a skating rink by the morning. At least we have food and wood (if I can find it under the snow!)

I do hope your wet suit is a full one, Mike.....
I have a photo of my hubby in his full suit, with a buddy of his, getting ready for a triathlon a few years ago. The buddy had a sleeveless suit but was very 'hirsute'....... no, he was bloody hairy!! Long gingery hairs are snaking up through the air from both shoulders and horizontally from his neck - oh, it is SO not a good look!!

2 inches was enough to make this county grind to a holt, but what do you expect when a large chunk of it is lower than sea level - I think that the council bods seem to think that flat roads don't get icy!
It's all but gone now, and is very wet, although with another freeze tonight it should be an interesting trip out to DH wood yard tomorrow.

There's ice mountains in this town now - and those are the pavements.

Re: Oh no, SNOW !
I am highly fed up with all this snow. Probably had 3 feet here in total. I thought I was safe with me ole Landy, but on taking it out this morning, I knew all was not well after 2 miles in the ice that is our roads - engine temp up to normal, but icy air coming from heater. Pulls in half a mile later to adjust my home made radiator muff and... oooo...listen to that - boiling engine. Grrrrr. 2 hour wait in -11C for the tow truck to take me the 2.5 miles home and the beggar turned up in a transit van without the means to tow. Double Grrrrr. Land Rover now being worked on in local garage. Guess what the cause was?
Note to self: next autumn, much check antifreeze in Landy.
Thing was it coped with -19C on Friday night, but I was out in it last night till 11pm so I bet it was that 'hot water freezes quicker than cold water' thing. I'm off to give myself a good talking to.
