Power Off Weekend

Post: # 200323Post citizentwiglet »

Is anyone else joining in with this tomorrow night until Sunday night?

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=10150123162760652

I've been preparing Ellis for the concept of 48 cBeebies-free hours; I have got the fridge cleared out and the wee one's milk safe in a coolbox (with neighbours freezing extra iceblocks for us, which MIGHT just be cheating....); we have a menu of picnic, picnic and more picnic (with a barbeque on Sunday night built on a wood fire to co-incide with the Solstice celebrations). The boys will be going to the park, we'll all be going on a foraging walk to either Bothwell Castle or Chatelherault, I'll be doing a stack of weeding (better than a stack of ironing!), we'll spend time up the community garden and Ellis has already worked out that no TV = loads of board games......

I'll probably not be around tomorrow night, as we'll have stuff to organise for 11pm, when it starts, so I wish everyone participating all the best, and I'll see you at about 11.03pm on Sunday night!!!!!!!!
I took my dog to play frisbee. She was useless. I think I need a flatter dog.

Sounds like you're going to have a great time.
I think DH would actually strangle me if i suggested no TV at the moment. World Cups are like his Birthdays and Christmas all rolled into one. At least it's only every 4 years.

We get too many power cuts with the flooding and the storms at the moment;so we are more thankful to have the power on consistently than to want to turn it off at the moment :)

Have a great weekend, enjoy all the simple pleasures, and have a great solstice.

I have my youngest daughter & her man here on Monday for a week... I need hot water for a spot of cleaning & the hoover... although I've still not got the iron back from the eldest (such a shame!!) but apart from that, the PC will be on & not a lot else.

Enjoy the peace Twiggy! See you Sunday xx
The more people I meet, the more I like my garden
