I'm pretty sure it was quakerbear, but can't remember so if it wasn't, please re-attribute my next comment..... oh bugger this is making no sense. start again...

someone on here recommended using a pyjama pattern to make old-style bloomers for thigh protection in summer and wramth in winter.

I did.

I have.

I love them.

I only trend to wear really long skirts in the winter, and still wear usual undies under the bloomers but omg they're fab.

Well whoever it was - :thumbright: what a good idea and also MrsF  - long skirts, in my experience, are the warmest winter wear with thick tights or leggings (or bloomers) underneath

I actually used a wrap-around summer trousers tutorial for these, and just made the outer seam a bit less-wrappey by sewing it up, and added an elastic waist instead of ties.

They look great but what on earth are wrap around trousers? I can't quite figure that one out!

Imagine very wide trousers - with no side seams - open at the sides and with a tape attached at the edge of the 'waist', you ties the front around your back waist, and then the back around your front (or vice versa) - flappy troos with 'slits' up the sides
??

confusing innit?

 trousers without side seams sounds very odd and they'd flap in the breeze so you'd have sort of two bits of trouser 'legs' flapping about between your legs  is there any point to that?

I see Mrs Flib has posted whilst I'm typing this so off to look at the link to see if it is clearer!

I've got some of those thai fisherman trousers, they are comfortable but take me forever to wrap, and once I lost control of them in the garden centre (they are under better control these days). Also they are one of those things it is annoying to have to go to the toilet while wearing as it is such a performance retying them every time (perhaps I am just rubbish at it).

Off topic, do you remember those bodysuit things that fastened with poppers between your legs, and then as soon as you got drunk (misspent youth) you couldn't fasten them again - I saw a woman buying one in John Lewis recently and loudly proclaiming how happy she was they were back in fashion, and I thought, I hope they are not! As I am no more flexible now than I was when they were last in!

Love the bloomers, great idea

So it was you we spent all night laughing at

Actually I couldn't get the sodding things done up sober, never mind drunk.

I think I may still have one lurking in the bottom of my underwear drawer MMM - I'll send you an early xmas present  (We really need a smiley for crying with laughter!)
