Leaving Prezzie

Post: # 160987Post Milims »

Even tho we still have a week and a bit of the term left, we had our end of term "do" after work tonight, with leavers presentations. I'm really chuffed - they clubbed together and bought me a crab apple tree  I think it's lovely - I can make jelly and think of them all every time! :flower:
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

That is fantastic

One leaving pressie I got was a cuddley lion - I am not a cuddly toy kind of a person, and I was leaving 'the bear factory' and the lion was from clinton cards
Didn't get anything, not even a leaving doo, when I left the clothes shop - I only worked there for 4 years  doing more than my fair share too... and organising leaving nights and pressies for everyone else.... sigh..... not that I am bitter or anything...

It's so nice when people put thought into a present and buy something they know you would like, rather than buying something they like. When I went on maternity leave, my colleagues clubbed together and gave me a load of Mothercare vouchers so I could buy what I wanted for LO. Then, when I resigned they clubbed together again. The person in charge of the money said she wanted to give me gift vouchers so I could buy what I wanted and asked what store I would like the vouchers for. She insisted it had to be to buy something for me, not LO, and that they would not buy me Mothercare vouchers again. So I got exactly what I wanted - B&Q vouchers!

When I left my job in Australia, they all put together a scrap book with loads of photos and messages from everyone I had worked with. They also bought me a lovely necklace, but nicest of all, they sponsored a child through World Vision 'in my memory' (made it sound like I had died!). Apparently, I was their conscience and they wanted to be reminded of that when I left!

That's lovely. How nice of them to think about what you would like. I love giving trees as presents (when it's suitable) and gave my friends an apple tree as a wedding present a few years ago.

When I left my last job they gave me B&Q vouchers which went towards my wood burning stove  .

Cheers
