We were given some by SPS's father a few years ago and we were going to keep them in the hopes of winning the draw but ended up cashing them in for the money as we were very very very skint (read no money for 3 months at the time!), good job you didn't bin them as they are worth the face value at least if not the prize money from a draw you may have missed ;)

Are you talking about Premium Bonds? Don't chuck them!!! Write and give them your latest address, although Jim's mum might have to write if they were in her control, I don't know about that. Mrs Flib he might have won over the years and they wouldn't have been able to contact you, so you never know, you might have been lucky .....

I think if you have the bond holder number AND the certificate number you can actually check online on the nsandi site. Good luck!
Growing old is much better then the alternative!

yes, premium bonds.
you can only check the lastmonth's draw online, when he writes to them he's going to ask for their tracing service. i have my fingers crossed but if we did win anything, it wont be a lot lol!!

Oh, Mrs F - don't ever bin them!!

If there are say, £200 worth, you cash them in for £200... no matter how old they are!

Also, the claim checker isn't just for last month's draw - it will show ANY win, no matter how long ago...

quote from the site:
The Premium Bonds prize checker shows any prizes you may have won in May 2009 and the past six draws, along with any prizes unclaimed from previous draws...

We checked my step-dads a couple of years ago & found that he'd won £500 back in 1980, never claimed!! It was safely tucked up in the bank within 7 days  Sadly, no interest though... just think, 27 years of interest on that!
The more people I meet, the more I like my garden
