Chat room Question Time

Post: # 149091Post Andy Hamilton »

We are thinking of having chat room question time session. Basically inviting interesting people to log into the chatroom so that everyone here can ask them questions.

To test it out me and perhaps Dave will be the first people to sit in the chat room and take your questions. Just to see if it is popular enough to invite other people in.

So when to do it? What is a good time for everyone? I was thinking that a lunchtime during the week might be good, say Tuesday 1.30pm-2pm (BST) for example. - This of course could differ and we could cater for people in different times zones with more appropriate times should this take off.

Even having an open chat room that people could sign into and talk in real time could be quite valuable IMHO. IVe never been able to get me head round the time conversions :clock:

What a fantastic idea! Decent conversation over lunch! Is it ethical to drug the baby to make sure that nap time is the right time???
the ever growing luvpie household currently contains, 4 boys, 4 chickens, 2 cats, 2 rabbits, 4 fish, an empty tropical fish tank waiting new arrivals, now are we daft to look at our broody hen thinking, if we got some fertilised eggs........

We have one FTB!!!

Up at the top right hand side where it says 'Chat', you have to click on it an type your name.... I'll go in now, might see you there :D

ETA - I think question and answer sessions would be great, but I'd imagine evenings are better for most people.

I've just voted 'lunchtime' but it was a close thing between then & evening. Then I saw the results so far; a 50/50 split!

If it's decent weather I'm not on the pc at lunch time, I get my ISH fix in the evenings, but if it's pouring down I come here for consolation over lunch!

Lovely idea. I just connected to the chat server and it is easy to do (never tried it before). For me evenings are best, as I'm at work on most week days.

i've voted for evening as i work 4 days a week. i`wouldnt want to miss out...i'd come 'listen'...i may not ask questions, but would find the whole thing very interesting.

as a side note....we've done this before on the craft forum i belong to and because it was so popular, the mods would gather the questions in advance...esp if the guest didnt have loads of time to chat, and then the mod would just ask and the guest would answer and we'd all watch and occassionally oooo and rrrr at the appropriate moments!!. that way it didnt get to messy!.

While the idea is great I don't have any set time when I'm available to ask or answer questions so I'm afraid I'll pass on this poll.
