Sidewalk shopping

Post: # 151955Post yugogypsy »

Had a great sidewalk shop today-had to go south 25 miles but it was worth the gas, Three TV's for watching videos and we'll share some with friends.

Lots of stuff for the garden, a few bits of lumber, a dehydrator (I needed one!) , a small metal shelf, 1 gal. shop-vac, baskets, tools, a perfectly good, practically new roasting pan, a lounge chair for the lawn, a Coleman lunch kit and thermos, a compact stereo-no speakers though, I could go on and on.

My van earned its keep today!!!! Again it was my tenant that helped me, a friend of his told him about the grand clean-up at the trailer park he lives in.

Once a year they can put ANYTHING out to be picked over and then the remains will be taken away by park management.

If I'd had a full size van instead of my little Dodge I could have brought home twice as much, we only covered one area of the park and it was full!

It was a fun, productive afternoon and we had halibut burgers at the fish & chip shop on the way home-YUMMY.

If it seems I'm talking about my tenant a lot-well Rick and I finally got to the point where I'd outgrown him so badly I couldn't stand it any more.
He's still living here, but in the trailer and tenant is in his own camper, but yeah, we like each other :hugish:

I got a lot of bedding plants this week and will soon be planting beans and such.

But it's fun to take a day off and go "shopping", especially for free!

 Lois

sounds like a great haul!

I have been waiting for the spring clean up here, I need a few bikes for spares, more wood, a chair for my pollytunnel and then a good pick of whatever else is around.

We've added more goodies to the list. More garden pots, and oh joy  , a DVD player that wouldn't work for my neighbour but works fine for us.

Now to set up the stereo, we need to find some older type speakers for it.

I got 2 sets of glass mixing bowls and some stainless steel pots, now I can take some of my old stuff I've had forever to the thrift store.

Today we were coming home from Victoria and found another lawn chair

I have to pay my pal Judy for the tires I got from her--we had thought of selling them and splitting the money, but they fit my van a treat  and I needed a good set of tires.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mum's on the forum.

I took a walk through the carport yesterday and groaned again. :(

There is still a bunch of stuff from our sidewalk shopping that have to be cleaned up and found room for.

Yesterday I had to hustle a bunch of boxes and bags out of the bathroom to my bedroom because we had company for supper.

Now the bathroom is the tidiest room in the house (if you don't open the cupboards  )

I had an encouraging HelpX email today, a couple who may want to stay up to a year.

I sure hope they come. We sure could get a lot done with 2 more bodies around.

Especially with Rick working as much as he has been lately.

Rolly is planting lettuce, I've had a sinus headache all day  and Rick is working.

Take Care All
 Lois
